Passport Services and Requirements


 

Passport Renewal (After 5 years)

 

(Passport, which has not yet served the normal ten years lifespan):  

 

§ Completion of the Passport Renewal Form (P.25);

§ Payment of £25 in Postal order for the service; and a separate Processing fee of £15 in Postal Order (made payable to the Nigeria High Commission, London).

§ Submission of the expired passport;

§ Application must be submitted in person or by post through special delivery (including return postage);

§ NOTE: Fee subject to change ;

§ (PAYMENT BY CASH OR CHEQUE IS NOT ACCEPTABLE).


 

Passport Reissue (After 10 years). This is now done in form of the new Biometric Passport

 

(Passport, which has already served the normal ten years lifespan): 

 

§        If you are legally resident in the United Kingdom, apply for the new biometric passport;

§    Payment of Processing Fee of £50 in Postal Order (Payable to the Nigeria High Commission, London); and Payment of $110 online through the www.immigration.gov.ng ; Follow the online instruction to apply and to make payment;

§    Submit to the High Commission 1. The completed online application Form, 2. The Acknowledgement Form containing your Application ID and Your Application Reference No, 3. Payment Confirmed document aontaining date of interview 4. Original and Photocopy of your current passport;

§      COME ONLY ON THE INTERVIEW DATE ;

§         (PAYMENT BY CHEQUE IS NOT ACCEPTABLE).

NOTE:

  1. All applications for re-issue of lost passports must be submitted at the counter. Applicants would thereafter be required to submit themselves for personal interviews. This is however subject to satisfactory scrutiny of their submissions.

  2. The Guarantor must be a reputable Nigerian with good knowledge of the applicant

  3. All submissions must be made in duplicates

Emergency Travel Certificate

 

As the name implies, Emergency Travel Certificate is issued for emergency purposes only, when and if the standard passport is lost. ETCs are issued to facilitate applicants immediate departure for Nigeria only.

Requirement for Change of name by Marriage

  • A copy of the Marriage Certificate;

  • Request of Change of name by the husband together with the photo-copies of the husband's Passport;

  • Production of the Spouse's Passport;

  • Letter of Consent from the applicant;

  • Payment of £25 Postal order for the service and a separate £15 Processing Fee also in Postal order (made payable to the Nigeria High Commission, London) .
