PRESS RELEASE

REBUTTAL OF CIRCULATING 2018 SOCIAL MEDIA POST ON THE NIGERIAN HIGH COMMISSION IN LONDON

The attention of the Nigerian High Commission in London has been drawn to a resurfaced social media post from 2018, which depicted restroom facilities within the Commission and made derogatory remarks about Nigerians as a people.

The Nigerian High Commission is committed to maintaining facilities that meet international standards. Since 2018, significant upgrades and renovations have been undertaken to improve the experience of visitors and staff. The Commission remains open to constructive criticism aimed at improvement.

However, we are averse to disinformation and the use of disparaging language that maligns the entire communities or national identities. The Nigerian High Commission in London reaffirms its dedication to serving the Nigerian community and fostering positive international relations. We continue to take proactive measures to ensure that our facilities and services reflect the dignity of our nation and its people.
