The meeting discussed issues of mutual interest in the Commonwealth Organisation.

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HOLIDAY

The High Commission wishes to inform the general public that the Federal Republic of Nigeria has declared Tuesday, 15th July, 2025, as a public holiday to mourn the passing of Former President Muhammad Buhari GCFR.

In view of the above, the High Commission of Nigeria in the United Kingdom will be closed on this day to honour this sacred day while normal services will resume on Wednesday, 16th July 2025

Please be advised that all applicants with biometric appointments scheduled on this day when the High Commission will be closed, would be attended to from Wednesday, 16th July 2025.

However, the High Commission will be open to those who intend to sign the condolence register.

The Acting High Commissioner extends his deepest condolences to the family and the Nation.

The Nigeria High Commission wishes to inform the general public of the passing of His Excellency Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR, former President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, who died on 13th July, 2025.

          Former President Buhari served Nigeria with unwavering commitment, both as a Military Head of State and later, as a democratically elected President. His enduring legacy of patriotism, anti-corruption, and national service will be remembered across generations.

          In honour of his memory and distinguished service, seven (7) days National mourning has been declared. May Allah grant him amongst the highest levels of Jannah and grant his family and the Nation the fortitude to bear this great loss.

          A Condolence Register will be opened at the High Commission of Nigeria, located at:
